Strategy and roadmap for a product portfolio, agreed directly with the CEO, the CDTO, product owners and the business, BI and commercial teams. Thirteen engineers across development, QA, DevOps and IT, eight remote and five on site.
Architecture at scale
Event-driven services with one job each, talking through a message broker and coordinated with SAGA orchestration. I designed and delivered a monitoring platform of about 30 microservices, and led a team of three on an onboarding system of about 28.
Platform and infrastructure
I led the move from IIS to Docker to Kubernetes. The cloud and edge setup, the CI/CD pipelines and the monitoring stack are mine to run, so the platform works without a separate DevOps team behind it.
Products of my own
Notevex, TableButler and Operavex are running in production. Synolon and Alterwise are in development. More than ten products built in total, across web and mobile.
Profile
Developer to VP, the long way
I have done most jobs on an engineering team at some point. That is why I can set direction with a board and still be the person who answers for whether the system holds up under load.
I joined a RegTech company as a developer in 2018 and I am now its Vice President of Technology Development. I got there by taking the problems other people avoided, and by learning infrastructure on my own servers in the evenings until I could run it at work.
The first years were deep in the domain: AML and KYC screening, integrations with sanctions and adverse-media providers, platforms for government and municipalities with payments built in, and risk systems built together with banks. I learned how the business makes its money as well as how the code works, and that is what lets me argue an architecture decision in commercial terms.
Today I set the engineering strategy and roadmap for most of the product portfolio with the CEO, the CDTO, the product owners and the commercial teams. I also built the engineering function itself: the delivery process, the CI/CD pipelines, the cloud and edge setup, and a team split across two locations.
Outside the day job I run Alexandrou Intelligence, the software company I founded. Everything it ships, I designed and built.

Built through my own company, Alexandrou Intelligence. Same architecture underneath, very different problems on top.

Notevex
Business platform · multi-tenant SaaS
Clients, projects, people and reporting in one system.
A multi-tenant SaaS that brings CRM and sales, operations, a developer API and a client portal together, on the web and on native mobile.
Ordering, payments, loyalty and reservations for restaurants, cafés and bars. Guests scan the code on the table, read the menu in their own language, order, pay and split the bill, and every order reaches the staff on their phones.
My largest project so far: sales, projects, invoicing, accounting, payroll and compliance in one platform, all working from the same records, with the rules of Cyprus and Greece built in, from VAT to payroll to myDATA.
In every company someone just knows which order goes first and what will go wrong next. Alterwise connects to the data a company already has and builds personas that plan the way its most experienced people do.
Why: this is how your most experienced planner handles a busy Monday.

Building with AI agents
I use AI agents in two different places, and each needs its own discipline: inside the systems I design, and in the way I build them.
Agents inside the systems
An agentic framework is a distributed system, so I build it like one. Agents are services, and they work together through the message broker.
Each agent is a microservice with one responsibility. Agents pass work to each other through the broker, so the framework scales, retries and fails the same way the rest of the platform does.
SAGA orchestration coordinates the multi-step runs. Every step is tracked, and a step that fails triggers compensation, so a case is never left half-processed.
At work, an agentic framework of 25 to 30 microservices automates AML/KYC review, running on a secure on-premise LLM setup because regulated data cannot leave the building.
MCP servers give agents real systems to work against. Notevex, TableButler and the monitoring platform at work all have them, with Milvus and pgvector behind retrieval.
Agents in how I build
AI makes development fast. The work is keeping that speed on top of a foundation that holds, so a quick proof of concept can grow into a production system without a rewrite.
Claude and Claude Code are my main tools. A proof of concept goes from idea to something running in days, and the same workflow carries it on into production.
The foundation comes first: architecture, conventions and each project's rules are written down before the agents write code, so what they produce fits the system instead of piling up around it.
Agents that act as a QA engineer, a code reviewer, a security reviewer or a specific user persona go over each change before it ships, so one change gets several kinds of review in minutes.
Every change still goes through type checks, tests, lint and my own review before it merges. That is what keeps fast development from turning into vibe coding.
